Class Descriptions

Beginner Aerial Yoga

In a Beginner Aerial Yoga class  students can learn the basic aerial wraps and hammock safety, and explore a thoughtful sequence of poses to get them comfortable in the hammock. These classes are great for those brand new to Aerial Yoga and those who have taken a few classes, but are still learning.

Gentle Aerial Yoga

Gentle Aerial Yoga is a mindful flow of aerial yoga poses designed to help you settle into familiar mat yoga poses more deeply. Lead at a slower pace, this class resembles hatha yoga on the mat but uses aerial yoga hammocks to enhance the effect of the practice – from pose flow to final relaxation.

Aerial Yoga Flow

Aerial Yoga Flow classes are offered for those ready to try more advanced poses and get upside-down, as well as explore extra swinging and more powerful movements. Please, attend 5-10 Beginner Aerial Yoga classes at our studio prior to attending Aerial Yoga Flow class to make sure you’re comfortable with basic wraps, terminology and hammock safety.

Aerial (Floating) Yin Yoga

This class combines the deep tissue stretching of the Yin Yoga tradition with the support of the Aerial Yoga hammock.

The hammocks are set up lower to the ground for this class compare to traditional Aerial Yoga classes, which makes it easier to get in and out of the fabric.

The focus of this practice is on working with more plastic tissues of the body – tendons, ligaments, joint capsules and fascia, rather than muscles of our body (elastic tissues).
Yin Yoga postures are held longer (3-5 minutes) and are usually performed in a seated, supine or prone (laying on your back or stomach) positions inside the hammock or using it for support.
Often referred to as “the practice of quiet power” Yin Yoga provides an opportunity to quiet down the mind and breath while bringing greater flexibility to the deep tissues in the body.
Yin Yoga is a very beginner friendly practice. Please, notify your teacher of any health issues, recent injuries or surgeries prior to class.
